The first Irish wolfhounds were imported to Romania in 1996. The first who came here to stay was Adhara Famous Magical Mystery, a wonderful dog imported from Switzerland.
A few month later came two bitches from Hungary, Hany-Istok Ada (Odi) and her litter sister Amazonia.
The fist litter born in Romania was in the spring of 1998, Ama's litter, sired by Ian. In July 1998 Odi had also a litter sired by Ian, in kennel O'Brien, and the offsprings started their show career in 1999.

Hany-Istok Ada is the first Romania Champion IW, followed by her daughters Saga of Gloria O'Brien (Glory) and Scarlet O'Brien.

In 2002, a very special dog was imported from Italy: Bilbao, bred by Luca Valerani, son of Eur.Ch. Pitlocry's Lancelot.
